The festive Splatoon updates continue to roll in, with a new stage next to grace the game before we move into 2016.
Piranha Pit is coming 'tomorrow morning', as confirmed by Nintendo of Europe; based on typical update times that should mean the stage goes into rotation at 7pm Pacific / 10pm Eastern on 28th December in North America, while in Europe that is 3am UK / 4am CET on 29th December.
The video below gives a glimpse of the stage; check it out and let us know whether you're keen to try it out.

Definitely excited for the last two maps. They look pretty good. I'm not a fan of the Mahi Mahi Resort, though.
Awesome! Splatoon just keeps me coming back for more.
@abbyhitter Mahi Mahi Resort seemed like a horrible choice for Spaltfest - US, not sure what EU had - and it's turf war only mode, there is hardly any real estate to ink. Both of these maps look much better. Too bad Wally Warehouse and the oil rig still seem to be in the rotation so much, warehouse should be relegated to weapons testing. I've stopped playing b/c of the limitations. I really don't like turf war mode either, only rainmaker and tower control. Maybe I'll try this one out tomorrow since I know it will be up for 24 hours.
I'm kind of wore out on Splatoon updates.....still 8 months of gaming is quite a feat for a single game and I doubt it is leaving the gaming rotation anytime soon.
Won't try it today but nice to have it. Mahi wasn't bad, I like those transforming stages. The one I have barely played though, is the Museum.
The more (maps), the merrier! And judging by the recent additions, this one is going to be a bit harder and more challenging once again. Lovely jobly
I'm not staying up until after 2 am to play it as soon as it comes out, but I'll definitely try it out tomorrow. It's perfect timing since I've gotten back into Splatoon today and I'm trying to reclaim my A- rank.
Ah, I get it. Ancho-V Games is a game dev studio/office.
"while in Europe that is 3am UK / 4am CET on 29th December"
@ThomasBW84: That can't be right, the maps usually rotate at 3am CET (and according to Splatnet, the last slot today will be from 11 pm to 3am), so it should be 2amUK/3am CET I guess?
@shani @thomasBW84: The updates used to be at 3am UK/4am CET until the clocks went back an hour. Now it generally happens at 2am UK/3am CET.
@crimsontadpoles Exactly.
And I have to go back to work tomorrow. FML.
Nice! Gonna have to hop on Splatoon to splat some kids and squids!
Yay a new map.
On the other hand giving away free content updates puts off the "hardcore" gamer who needs their content to be paid.
I am very disappointed that the free content is stopping after January, but this looks like a pretty good stage! On the other hand, I haven't even truly accepted Mahi Mahi Resort or Hamerhead Bridge as stages yet
Reminds me a lot of the coal mine map from the beta screenshots of the game. I look forward to it.
I hope that once the final map is added they will remove that annoying 2 maps per session thing. Why must 3 maps be limited to just Splatfests?
It's all good people!
"[...] the stage goes into rotation at [...] 3am UK / 4am CET on 29th December."
The updates were at 4:00 CEST in the summer, but the updates are now at 3:00 CET.
Just came back home and can finally play Wii U again but sad that the updates are coming to an end.
It was always enjoyable seeing how the new updates would change up the game. Sad I missed s good chunk of 'em. But I feel I did some good catching up today. Was back into the ring in no time. Almost like riding a bike.
I was playing it in the US last night, it's okay, I love the conveyor s but the map itself feels like one big open square
Played this level last night. I like it! Love the new levels with moving parts
Played this level, and I loved it.
