Bravely Default was a popular arrival when it was localised in Europe and North America, and also had a demo that served as a prelude to the main game. With Bravely Second: End Layer approaching in Europe the same strategy is being revisited.
With the game due on 26th February, including a gorgeous Collector's Edition, Nintendo of Europe has confirmed that a demo will arrive on the eShop on 11th February. Importantly it's not a simple slice of the main game, but rather "a prelude to the adventure" focused on "the Three Cavaliers – Yew Geneolgia, Janne Angard, and Nikolai Nikolanikov". As with the demo that preceded the first game progress will also unlock rewards in the full game.
It seems like a smart move, with an RPG in particular, to release a 'prelude' ahead of time - a small and self-contained experience can potentially entice more players into buying the full game.
Will you be giving this demo a try?

COME TO NA please!
Arrives in US in 2017, thanks NoA... Failure
Already preordered the collector's edition and playing the first one now ^_^
I'll definitely download it when it's available.
Yup will be buying anyway... Loved most of the first one... I whipped through the end game mind!
Generally I don't like to play demos of games I know I'm going to buy because I think it's a huge break of immersion when you get to play the game for an hour and then you can't continue until after the game actually releases at which point you'd rather just start all over again. But since the demo has exclusive content that's not in the main game, like it was with BD's demo, I might as well play it.
NO release date of North America. Hmmmmm. I know were supposed to optimistic and all but this is SquareEnix we are talking about. They have a DQ anniversary this year which didn't go over to well with fans once they streamed their presentation. They also are claiming to release DQ 7, DQ8, and some DQ for PS4 this year. The only confirmation title we have is Final Fantasy Explorers. I must be optimistic but this is Square Enix. I am jealous of Europe.
Wait.. this still doesn't have a NA release date? What the **** for?!
Still no release date for NA... I mean I'm still working my way through the first one so it's alright by me... for now. It is coming to NA though, right?
Bring to NA, but after March, I already pre ordered Fire Emblem Special Edition and I can't afford another collector's edition on the same month!
but rather "a prelude to the adventure" focused on "the Three Cavaliers – Yew Geneolgia, Janne Angard, and Nikolai Nikolanikov". - This is all I need. Hopefully more dynamic story mode and no recycling of maps like with the end chapters of the first one. I love grinding in RPG, but what they did with the first one is just plain wrong.
a release date that exactly coincide with the date of my birth. Good call! Eleven is an excellent and auspicious number to attach yourself to when looking to achieve success! Might have to pick it up when it comes to NA (which will probably NEXT February!)
Looks like NA will have to wait a while for this one. That's fine by me, as I still haven't gotten around to playing Bravely Default.
About how long does it take to clear the story in the first game?
11th?! That's ages!!
They're going out of the way to murder the English language hah.
Will absolutely download it. I've also did the same with the original. It is a very nice way to get to know the game
im playing thevfirst one now because i forgot a lot of the story, bad memory.im verry exited for the new game and i think the demo is a good idea.there is also a demo for etrian and lagacy,is this a new thing for rpg's?
@Rapido You should be happy that they took the feedback to heart when they were making this game.
Except for the music, of course.
@Trinexx
I did about 94 hours or so
Damn, I didn't know the original demo was just a prelude experience, or that it gave you some extras in the game. Definitely going to make up for missing that with this one!
